Dixon's Want List

These are my
big wants, don't be discouraged if you don't have any of these.  You never know what my tickle my fancy!

Network sitcom, variety or drama 1989 or earlier with its original commercials intact; I do have some preferences but I'm still fairly flexible..

Any Saturday morning programming, 1976 or earlier, w/o/c

Any game show , especially 1980's or earlier, with or without commercials, and especially:
--The Hollywood Squares with Peter Marshall (most of all! and especially daytime; would love any with David Letterman, Jay Leno or Steve Martin that may turn up)
--UK versions of "Deal or No Deal" or "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire"
--Love Connection (Timothy Treadwell, the naturalist and activist who was killed by a bear--along with his girlfriend--and was the subject of the documentary film "Grizzly Man," was supposedly once on the show in its early years; I would very much like that episode)
--Jeopardy! with Art Fleming (any episode I don't have that may turn up but two in particular: 1964 pilot and 1967 teen tournament week with Montgomery, Alabama native winning)
--surely one entire episode will turn up one day of Cross-Wits (1970s), Baffle, The Amateur's Guide to Love, Runaround, Sale of the Century (1970s)
--Supermarket Sweep from the ABC 1960s run
--Celebrity Sweepstakes, The Liar's Club, Split Second (1970s)
--any NBC eps of Let's Make a Deal (or ABC daytime)
--ABC years of "Password"
--Video Village (any I don't have)
--studio master or w/o/c versions of Match Game '7x
--anything not currently rerun on GSN (if it's been on there before, just not now, that's fine)
--Concentration
--The Price is Right with Bob Barker: the late '70s show where the woman faints upon winning her showcase
--Wheel of Fortune: Chuck's first and last shows in their entirety

The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson with or without commercials (won't turn down Steve Allen or Jack Paar, either)

Other wants:

Any complete episode from any source of "Car 54 Where are You?" or "The Phil Silvers Show" (except for the "Silvers" eps just released on DVD, though I will still accept those if they're w/o/c)

I love 1950s programming.  Got any w/o/c Uncle Miltie or Howdy Doody? Let's talk.

Any w/o/c episode of "The Andy Griffith Show" I don't already have, as well as better copies of some of the ones I do have, and a copy of the w/o/c "Danny Thomas Show" pilot ("Danny Meets Andy Griffith") from February 1960

Any episode of "The Wonder Years" I don't have, preferably w/o/c

"The Bear Bryant Show" (Alabama Crimson Tide football show, ran roughly 1966-82)

Any local newscast dating back 1980 or earlier

"Late Night With David Letterman" (NBC years)

Even moreso, "The David Letterman Show" (his failed 1980 daytime show)

Steve Allen's other, non-"Tonight" comedy shows, especially the ones from 1961-62 when Jim Nabors was a semi-regular

"The Jim Nabors Hour" (variety show from CBS, 1969-71)

Any local news/talk show/kids show taped off Birmingham, Alabama local TV, 1989 or earlier (or 1995 or earlier if it's from WBRC Channel 6)

I do NOT want any syndicated/cable reruns with the following
exceptions:
1.  Any
game show not currently rerun anywhere (Sale of the Century, etc)
2.  Any show taped off a local station 1979 or earlier
only if it still has its original commercials; most especially if that station happens to be WTCG, Channel 17, the forerunner to what we now call TBS.
3. The aforementioned "Car 54" and "Bilko" episodes.
4. Remember when ABC, CBS and NBC used to rerun prime time shows in the daytime?  From "I Married Joan" to "Full House," a surprising number of reruns actually clobbered first-run soaps and game shows from time to time.  I would love to have some of these daytime network reruns, especially "Andy of Mayberry," the CBS daytime rerun version of "The Andy Griffith Show," as well as the CBS daytime versions of "The Beverly Hillbillies" and "Gomer Pyle USMC."
