The two great joys of my life...my son, Wesley and my daughter, Megan.
In case you're wondering that left cheek belongs to my sister, Cathi...
My name is Dixon Hayes.  I am 30-(cough), divorced and live in Gadsden, Alabama.  I am a television photographer/producer for the Anniston bureau office of WBRC, Fox 6 in Birmingham.
A few of my favorite things:

*anything involving my children                   *the outdoors (a rekindled love affair)
*drive-in theatres                                         *exercise (walking, biking, working out, etc.)
*movies (classic & current both)                   *photography
*just about anything retro or nostalgic          *classic rock
*old toys (antiquing in general)                     *classic tv
*roadside Americana
The Dixon Story
Yours truly in September 1966, as a toddler with a Kennedy-esque 'do.  That's my grandparents' old Dodge in the background; it has a Wallace sticker on the front (Lurleen, not George).
on the left, at age 14, giving my dog Ginger a bath (note the "Grease" T-shirt); right, taken during my senior year at Glencoe High School (1981-82).
Dixon the DJ at Gadsden State in 1983; my first car--the 1973 Chevy Caprice Classic, which got me through 2 1/2 years of high school and two years of college...
Early adventures in television: left, my days at an intern at WCFT, the CBS affiliate in Tuscaloosa, Alabama  (at least it was in those days); center and right: two 1989 standups from WJSU, the CBS affiliate in Anniston, Alabama (at least it was in those days).  I worked at WJSU from 1988 until it became part of the Birmingham-based ABC33/40 in 1996, then worked with them for three more years.
I used to wake up Northeast Alabama, in the morning news inserts that appeared during "CBS This Morning" in the early 1990s.
Remember Larry, Darryl and Darryl from Newhart?  This is them with yours truly just weeks after the series' classic finale in 1990.
From a 1998 trip to Memphis: Dixon at the gates of Graceland (left); yours truly behind what I'm told is the very microphone the King himself used to record "That's All Right, Mama."  (BTW I like Elvis just a little bit!)
I was a 1999 semi-finalist in the TV Land Ultimate Fan Search; I didn't make it to the last, on air round, sadly (the winner was a more-than-worthy Malcolm Bondon).  Right, a blowup with yours truly brushing confetti out of my hair; that's Barbara Eden and Rod "Come on down!" Roddy in the foreground.
Meet the family: my two kids, Megan and Wesley, celebrating Wesley's ninth bithday in July 2000.  Right: my sibs and I at my stepbrother Andy's wedding in June 2000.  Clockwise from left: stepbrother David, yours truly, stepbrother Andy, stepbrother Dan, brother Philip, sister Cathi, sister Christie.
